BIAS Attends meeting with the Football Supporters Association (FSA)

BIAS attended the regular EFL Championship and League One fans network meeting on the 6th April, chaired by the Football Supporters Association (FSA).

A number of different topics were discussed including the safe return of fans to stadiums and the long awaited review of football governance promised by the Government in its’ Election Manifesto of December 2019.

The FSA are hopeful that the Government review will commence this summer, and they will play a key role in defining the scope of the review and providing evidence into this. BIAS as an affiliate member of the FSA will continue support this important piece of work to safeguard the integrity of the football pyramid.

The Government announced in February that fans will be allowed to football stadia in May, albeit with reduced capacities as part of Step Three of the easing of England’s coronavirus restrictions which is planned for the 17th May at the earliest. The Final day for the Premier League season is the 23rd May while the EFL play-off finals are taking place the final week in May. The EFL also recently announced dates for the Championship semi-finals on Monday 17th May and Saturday 22nd May.

Should Brentford find themselves in the Play-offs this season which looks increasingly likely, it is hoped that some supporters will be allowed to watch the play-off semi-final game at the new stadium and hopefully the Play-off final at Wembley. BIAS are already speaking to the Club on how tickets will be allocated for these potential games and we will provide a further update in due course.

As always, the strength of BIAS’ influence is based on the number and activity of our members. If you are not a member, help add to that voice, and join TODAY at bias.org.uk/join – it is now FREE and only takes a couple of minutes.
