BIAS Attends meeting with the Football Supporters Association (FSA)

Representatives from BIAS attended a meeting on the 12th March, chaired by the FSA along with a number of other support groups from the Premier League and English Football League (EFL).

Discussions centered on a number of key topic including:

  • the impact of Coronavirus on remaining football fixtures
  • the use of VAR outside the Premier League (including what happens if teams get promoted/relegated to/from Premier League)
  • the impact of a proposed European Super League on the EFL
  • new governance proposals to protect football clubs
  • flexible rail tickets for fans attending football matches
  • impact of ‘red button’ on football attendances
  • fairer ticket pricing across the EFL
  • Stand up for Choice (safe standing at football matches)
  • engaging supporter groups in the woman’s game

Many of the above topics are ‘work in progress’, and involve engagement with other areas such as the Premier League, English Football League and Government departments to gain support for change.

Further details of this meeting will be available in due course on the FSA website: http://www.fsf.org.uk/
