BIAS is committed to representing the interests of our membership.
As part of our relationship with the club, the BIAS committee has regular meetings with BFC reps to receive updates, raise issues directly, and provide advice. This system has worked very well for fans recently, with improvements to ticketing, influence in the customer charter and dealing with issues such as the change in the New Road gantry.
On several occasions we have been asked to advise on issues that BFC are not comfortable with us sharing with the membership directly. We do this because it allows us to influence areas we couldn’t otherwise, and while we are able to do this under our constitution, we use our regular general member surveys to inform our position.
When asked about the change to the Crest at our recent quarterly meeting, and shown the potential designs, the BIAS committee felt we did not have a strong feeling for the views of our members, and told the club we could only share our individual opinions, unless we could survey the membership. Without this, we could not respond as BIAS. only as individuals. This was made very clear on several occasions.
While the BIAS committee have played a part in the consultation process, we did not at any point endorse or agree to any particular Crest design, We also suggested the wider supporter base were consulted on potential designs.
