Brentford 1 v Colne Valley 2. GLWFL Premier Division.

After a tough week of games, Brentford knew it was time for a change in fortunes. Unfortunately their next game was against Colne Valley, a team in good form with 2 wins from 2 games.

Brentford started very well and saw a good chunk of possession in their favour. Brentford gave a debut to Alia Haggag who slotted into the midfield very well. (Alia has just signed for Brentford Women’s FC and we would like to make her very welcome and congratulate her on her debut today for the ladies team).

As Brentford pushed for a goal, they were caught cold by Francesca Beeks who ran through two challenges by both central defenders to slot the ball into the far corner.

Second half started the same as the first with Brentford pushing for an equaliser and got back into the game when Hodo was first to a cross in the box.

Brentford looked sharp but as Brentford pushed were undone with more bad defending leaving the final score 2-1 to Colne Valley.

Becky in goal was brilliant and deserved the Lady of the Game (MOM) award!
