Brentford 1 Cardiff City 2

Brentford dominated this match against a determined and physical Cardiff team who somehow managed to leave with all three points.

The Bees started brightly and had all of the early pressure but lacked the killer instinct in front of goal.

Gray eventually gave the Bees the lead when former keeper Moore could only parry a shot which the strike just tapped in.

Cardiff were gifted an equaliser ten minutes into the second half when both Dean and Button went for the same ball allowing the visiting striker the simplest of taps in.

Cardiff only other goal and shot on target for that matter again came from a Brentford mix up at the back. Button hesitated when a long ball cane over the top and backtracked allowing the visiting striker the simplest of tasks to give the visitors the lead.

Cardiff were the most physical side to visit Griffin Park this season and their direct style of play made this one of the worst games the home crowd had witnessed in league one.

Four Cardiff players were booked and in the closing stages two were sent off when cynical fouls when the Bees fought desperately for an equaliser.

As the Bees laid siege to the Cardiff goal the Bluebirds defended deep with all ten/ nine packed within their own eighteen yard box.

The Bees offered little though, high ball after highball resulted in nothing which was frustrating to watch as the Bees certainly had the skill to run with ball and take on the Cardiff defenders in their own area which may have been more productive.
