Brentford were worthy winners after a brilliant performance at a passionate Elland Road

Brentford moved up to fourth in the Championship leapfrogging Ipswich Town after this fine battling performance.

Coming into the game both sides were in form, with Brentford winning their last three away games and Leeds unbeaten in four.

The Bees started slowly allowing Leeds to apply the early before gwoeing inti the game and starting to play apply their trademark football.

The passionate home Leeds crowd were both vociferous in their support and in appealing for penalties with the referee Graham Salisbury waiving away three penalty claims after the Leeds players appeared to have fallen too easily and with the minimum of contact

It was Alex Pritchard who scored for the Bees after ghosting in at the far post to drive the ball home.

Jon Toral could have doubled the Bees lead when his shot hit the Leeds post.

Leeds finished the game strongly but despite the increased pressure where unable to equalise although they did come close with a last minute goal mouth scramble in extra time
