QPR Res 2 Brentford WFC 0

Capital Women’s Cup holders, Brentford WFC were overcome by a goal in each half to exit this season competition in the second round.

Injuries to goal keeper Caroline Brooks and top scorer Ashley Cheatley forced changes to the Brentfoprd side with Tia Prior standing in more than admirally between the sticks and two new players making their debuts.

Brentford Ladies defended deep and sat deep first half and invited pressure but some resolute defending from Manuela Naprta, Hannah Noonan who was returning to side after the end of the Gaelic football season did well were very hard to break down with the support of the full backs Amber Langston Lloyd and Sophie Lee.

Towards the end of the first half QPR took the lead with a scruffy shot from a corner.

Lisa Grant could have equalised and despite the introduction of the prolific Dana Johnson the Bees failed to find the leveller and went further behind when QPR scored their second on the break

Brentford WFC: Tia Prior, Sophie Lee, Manuela Naprta, Hannah Noonan, Amber Langston Lloyd, Vicky James, Gemma, Claire Richardson, Lucy Gibson and Lisa Grant and Holly. Subs were; Sophie T and Dana Johnson.
