Brentford WFC 9 Hemel Hempstead Town 2

Brentford Ladies cruised into the second qualifying round of the FA Cup to give their manager a perfect send off as Will Boye heads for pastures new.

It didn’t take the clubs leading goal scorer long to break the deadlock with Ashely Cheatley finding the back of the net with just five minutes on the clock.

Within minutes Brentford Ladies were threatening to run riot as Dana Johnson scored her first of the afternoon to make it two nil before Lavana, cutting in from out wide, made it three.

The Brentford back four frustrated Hemel Hempstead Ladies by playing a high back line which often caught the visitors offside, but when the trap was broken Hemel Hempstead managed to pull a goal back to make it three- one at half time.

Brentford ladies attacked the Hemel Hempstead goal relentlessly in the second half and with Dana Johnson adding two to her tally for the afternoon and Lavina adding a second to make it 6-1 with half an hour still on the clock.

Town were gifted a goal when during an unfortunate scrabble, Vicky James attempted to head back to the Brentford keeper Caroline Brooks and the ball ended up in the back of the net.

Ashley Cheatley completed her Hatrick before Dana Johnson went one better to notch her fourth goal of the game.
The match finished 9-2 and Brentford WFC progressed to the next round.
