Brentford FC and the London Borough of Hounslow have today (13/06/2014) signed the Section 106 planning agreement for the new Community Stadium and 910 residential units at Lionel Road South.
This enables Hounslow Council to formally issue the planning permission which was was given the go ahead from the Planning Committee on the 5th December 2013 subject to referral to The Mayor of London and the Secretary of State. The Mayor’s office confirmed the decision on the 18th of February 2014, whilst the Secretary of State gave the project the go-ahead on the 14th March 2014
Brentford FC Chairman Cliff Crown told the Club’s official website “Signing the S106 Agreement is another significant step towards our goal of playing in a new community stadium.
I’d like to thank all parties involved in finalising the document including Hounslow Council, the Brentford FC Community Sports Trust and our project team. Prior to commencing construction, further work is required including the completion of the Development Agreement with our preferred development partner.
We remain focused on working with local residents, community groups and local businesses as the development proceeds.”
BIAS will continue to engage with supporters and local residents to ensure the club deliver a stadium that benefits aspects of the community, allows the club to continue to grow and provide itself with a sustainable future.
