Charlotte Tanner reflects on winning the league, a fun training session and spying on Sunday’s Cup Semi Finalist opponents in her latest Brentford WFC blog.
Brentford Women’s FC have done it! We have won the league. After an unfortunate loss against Enfield last weekend, AFC Phoenix who are second in the league drew against Pettswood. With three games left and being 10 points clear they cannot beat us!
We have to put the Enfield Town defeat behind us and focus on the cup!
Training was great fun, first week back after my injury and we started off with a serious game of football tennis. Obviously the best team won!
We then worked on keeping possession between the team and 1v1 situations in front of goal, finishing a fun session with a match. At the end of training we found out that Chertsey Town FC couldn’t field a team which meant we were through to the next round in the cup against Colne Valley (my old team and the league above) or Northwood (in our league).
Seeing as we didn’t have a game I thought I’d go down and watch the game. Colne Valley won 2-1 so we will play them next weekend in the next round of the John Greenacre Cup. I’m really looking forward to it, it should be a great game!
Watch out on twitter for the match details and come down to support Brentford Women FC, we want to hear you chanting us on!
Bees you later
