Charlotte Tanner reflects on Sundays game, training and keeping us up to date with what is going on with Brentford WFC in her latest blog.
With a great last minute win against AFC Phoenix last weekend, things were looking up for the week ahead to get that point so we could win the league.
A good turn up at training saw the ladies working on off the ball movement and link up play around the penalty box in preparation for the game on Sunday.
This week’s game was against Enfield, league winners and rivals from last season, we only needed to draw to be able to win the league. Unfortunately it wasn’t our day and with a few chances in the first half missed it was 0-0 at half time.
We went into the second with a change of formation on the pitch for the attack. We just needed to nip in an early goal then we would be on our way. It wasn’t to be and we ended up losing 3-0 at full time.
It is a disappointing performance and result but we’ll work hard to correct the wrongs and create more rights.
We have worked so hard this year we cannot let it slip away so we will fight and show you all what we can do!
Short and sweet this week.
Onwards and Upwards.
Bees you later
