Read Charlotte Tanner’s latest update from the Brentford WFC camp
As I couldn’t attend training due to my ankle injury and decided to travel over three hundred miles to watch Brentford FC draw to Carlisle and I have been out of the loop this week. However I have been updated by our skipper and coach.
Training was on combining and finishing in a wave practice, that allowed a lot of repetition. In preparation for Sunday it is so important to take chances when we get them to get ahead in the game.
On Sunday the Ladies played Petts Wood FC, prepared to fight for the win, literally! You would have all thought they were playing American football…lets just say they love a hard, late challenge. With one change in the team and no subs everyone had to dig a little deeper. It wasn’t our day and we lost 5-1 but at least we came off with cuts and bruises than broken ankles.
Lets get our heads up, move on and battle through to the semi final of the John Greenacre Memorial Trophy. The quarter final is at Swift Road on Sunday against QPR development. Our new signing Lavana is able to play and with the likes of Goody, Hannah, Caroline and Sarah all heading back to training soon things are looking up!
Short and sweet blog this week, but we’re looking forward to getting back outside at training on Thursday.
Bees you later
