Those who have booked on the Orient Boats should pay for their boat tickets on Saturday.

Jim Walsh, Away Travel Specials

Jim Walsh will be in The Griffin (the Winchester) between 1pm and 2pm and then in the Braemar forecourt 2pm to 2.30/2.45ish (inside in the Hive if it is raining) and selling tickets to those who have already booked on the first two boats.

The boats will depart from Putney Pier at 08.30 to arrive at North Greenwich at 11.00.

The first two boats which have already been booked and paid for, sold out within 48 hours of being announced.

This top of the table clash could be all important come the end of the season and it would therefore be great if we could support our team in numbers.

Brentford FC have agreed an allocation with Leyton Orient an allocation which is just short of 2700. This arrangement includes a guaranteed sale so it is hoped that Brentford fans will indeed travel so that they can be seen and heard.

The Golden Salamander

Due to the original popular demand, after the first two boats sold out within 48 hours of being announced we reserved a third vessel for our top of the table clash away to Leyton Orient. Reservations are still be taken for this third BIAS boat which will be confirmed should there be sufficient interest to make it viable

The third vessel could join other boats to take us down river from Putney, departing at 08:30 and arriving at North Greenwich (by the O2 Arena) around 11:00.

From North Greenwich it is a short tube journey to Leyton (Jubilee Line to Stratford, Central Line to Leyton) and a short (10 minute) walk from there to the ground. This could be a vital match in Brentford’s push for promotion so make sure you’re there.

If you are going, there’s no better way to go than a boat trip down the Thames and a chance to see all the famous landmarks – Houses of Parliament, London Eye, HMS Belfast, Tower of London, Tower Bridge, etc. There will be a pay bar on board and there should be sausage and bacon butties available.

Please note that the boat is one way and you will have to make your own arrangements for the return journey. Prices are £10 adults and £5 kids. (Any profits will go back in some form to benefit Brentford Football Club).

If the new departure time is no longer convenient and you need to cancel your booking or if you are interested in being on board, please email the travel co-ordinator Jim Walsh on JamesW@bias.org.uk
