Happy New Year

BIAS would like to wish all Brentford fans a very happy and prosperous new year.

Brentford FC has had an exciting Christmas programme with a fine win at Preston and back to back home wins against Swindon Town and MK Dons.

Both of our teams are currently top of the leagues, with the Brentford Womans team being on fine form and looking to better their promotion and cup double of last season.

2013 was a very busy year for BIAS, the Association was been busier than ever and is much bigger than ever before.

The Stadium Action Group campaigned tirelessly to assist the Football Club achieving the Planning Application for a new stadium at Lionel Road. Some weeks our volunteers were putting in more than 100 hours attending events, creating, proof reading and distributing literature, meeting with local residents, attending public meetings, working, laising and supporting the Lionel road team whilst formulating our own strategy.

The campaigning is not over yet, we still have two referrals to negotiate and the BIAS Stadium Action group team will be reconvening n the New Year to pick up the baton.

Our Regional and International branches have continued to grow, in conjunction with the football club we managed to run coaches to Sheffield United picking up from Feltham, Hillingdon, Woking and Northampton.

Each branch has its own group on Face Book so that we can help bring exiled Brentford fans together and we are seeing more and more offers of car sharing and the Club even has an extra season ticket holder as one remote fan can now attend matches at Griffin Park once more.

Our Twitter following has grown to over 1581 followers as we strive to connect with Brentford fans, as we break BIAS new and bring updates to Brentford fans. It would good if we replicate last years growth and hit 2000 followers by the ned of the season.

BIAS arranged Fans Forums in 2013 and have requested another in early 2014 as we strive to bring Brentford fans ever closer to the Football Club.

We re-launched own website so that it is more user friendly for tablets and mobiles. This was a massive task transferring 10 years worth of data from the old site.

Our “Out and About team were at lots of events within the local community promoting Brentford with lots of success.

Our own football team Hey Jude BIAS FC enjoyed a decent run or form. The side are always on the lookout for new players so if you can kick a ball to a good standard please get involved.

There are currently 50 Bees Fans who undertake lead roles for BIAS (committee members, other lead roles and regional/ international co-ordinators and these people along with our Facebook and Twitter interactions ensure that we main connected and are representative of Brentford fans.
We are sure that 2014 will be just as busy and rewarding for BIAS.

If you have not made a new year’s resolution please make one to join us.

Wishing you all connected with Brentford FC a happy and prosperous New Year.

Remember to sing Loud, Sing Proud and to make it happen!
