Brentford started well and in the opening exchanges were the better side. Ten minutes in, Paul Hayes passed to Adam Forshaw who whose attempt on goal was assisted across the line with the assistance of a Celtic defender who failed to divert the ball of off it goal line course.

Celtic missed to glorious chances to take the lead, Balde was first to hit the bar when lobbing Bonham in the Brentford goal, the rebound was met by Watt who smashed his effort agianst the upright before the ball was headed away for a corner.
The visitors had a glorious chance to take the lead when Balde tried to lob goalkeeper Jack Bonham, but his effort rattled the bar and Tony Watt hit the woodwork as well from the rebound.
Harlee Dean went to knock just after half time and was replaced in defence by Kevin O’Connor.

The Bees, who were probably worthy of a draw, rallied well but could not bounce.
