BIAS are pleased to announce the creation of the Irish Brentford Supporters Club
Fran Carroll who is a 42 year old father of two children, living in Dublin, approached BIAS and has stepped up to become our International Branch co-ordinator for all Bees fans living in Ireland.
Originally a Manchester United supporter from the age of four until Fran became a Bee after going to his Brentford Game at Griffin Park against Tottenham Hotspur in the Worthington Cup, September 2000 (0-0).
The atmosphere at the game being amazing and Fran became hooked. Fran recalls sitting on his own but he felt like he had been going to GP for years as he was made so welcome by the fans around him.
At the time Fran was living in Richmond and shortly moved into Brentford High Street.
Fran moved back home to Dublin the following year and has travelled over to Griffin Park for one or two games which steadily grew.
Within a couple of years Fran was travelling over about 10 times a year and became a season ticket holder while introducing his then, Chelsea supporting nephew to the club (now living in Manchester but turned an avid Bee).
Unfortunately work and new family commitments do not allow Fran to continue travelling over as regularly as he would like and Fran can now only travel over 1 or 2 times a years.
Fran thought he might have been the only Brentford supporter in Ireland until he met another Bee in his local.
It has been in Fran’s head to try and set up the Irish Brentford Supporters Club for the last couple of years in order to try and connect with other Irish Bees and now that Fran has connected with another it is now time to bring all of the Bees fans livening in Ireland together.
If you are a Brentford Fan living in Ireland please join our Facebook group or email Fran.
We also have Regional branches to bring Brentford fans together that cover the whole of England and a few more International branches too. For the full listing please see here.
