Things are certainly buzzing around Griffin Park at the moment. Brentford of late have more than held their own against some big name teams. Charlton, Norwich, Leeds, Doncaster and Southampton have all met their match when playing the Bees even if two of those sides sneaked off with undeserving victories (OK we're BIAS).
But no Bees fan can be less than 100% impressed with Andy Scott’s impressive dealings on transfer day.
Wojciech Szczesny has signed on loan until the end of the season we will hopefully see more Red and White Polish flags at Griffin Park. Is Wojciech the best Brentford keeper in living memory?
Scotty has also extend the loans of Tommy Smith who is playing his heart out to figure in this year's World Cup finals for New Zealand and has formed a great partnership in the heart of the Brentford defence with new hero Leon Legge (Legge Legge).
Lionel Ainsworth, a midfielder from Huddersfield, and John Akinde form Bristol City are two more impressive loan signings.
John Akinde even has his own Brentford song to the tune:
It's Akinde Magic. It's Akinde Magic.
One dream one soul, one prize,
One goal, one golden glance of what should bee.
After the Southampton game, a Saints fan apparently rang a radio station and stated to say how intimidating Griffin Park was. The atmosphere at the Southampton game was indeed that good, the Brentford roar when we scored travelled miles and with three sides singing their hearts out for the Bees the crowd certainly was passionate. Its this atmosphere, this level of support even when a goal down, that Brentford fans need to recreate to match the investment in the team.
The golden sixth place play off spot, so often the route into the Championship, is still within the club's reach and with a little ‘beelief’, some old PMA and a passionate, noisy home ground, the Bees can climb the table, can build for next season and if lady luck is shining we may once again be painting the town Red.
So this Saturday, bring a mate, phone a friend and introduce the family and sing your hearts out for the lads.
