Oliver Thewes – International Co-ordinator Switzerland

Oliver Thewes who was born in Frankfurt, Germany but moved to Switzerland 20 years ago has stepped up to become our International Branch co-ordinator for all Bees fans living in or from the Country.

For as long as Oliver can remember he has been a supporter of Eintracht Frankfurt, following them home and away when his was younger with his friends.

Since moving to Switzerland Oliver supports his local side Lugano FC.

Oliver says that like most German’s he became interested in British football , coming over to watch some matches In England and Scotland as often as possible. A few years ago he came to London with a couple mates and with all of the games to choose from they chose Brentford at Griffin Park.

Oliver admits that the game against Scunthorpe was not too thrilling but he was impressed with the atmosphere and the friendly supporters around. Some people even offered us a pint when they realized that we came from abroad to watch the Bees.

His friend Duncan Adams wrote a report on his website which can still be read on the Football ground Guide website .

Oliver created the group BIAS Swiss Bees on Facebook so that he could help unite all of the the Bees supporters in Switzerland and so that they could keep in touch with other BIAS groups from all over Europe.

If you are a Brentford Fan living in Switzerland please join our Facebook group or email Oliver.

BIAS also have Regional branches to bring Brentford fans together that cover the whole of England and a few more International branches too.

If you live abroad and there is not an International Branch for your country – please get in touch!
