Charlotte Tanner’s Brentford WFC Blog
Charlotte Tanner is back ready to inform you what has been going on within the Brentford ladies camp with new season 2014-2015.
Hello friends and fans,
The ladies have had a fun summer training and playing friendlies every Sunday, getting fit for the season ahead. We have brought in some new signings which we are happy to welcome the squad. The squad has gone up to 21 players with variety and choice for the coaches for Sunday matches.
Last week saw the ladies win 9-0 in the first game of the season against Hemel Hempstead who have been relegated from the league above. We have also been drawn them in the FA cup on Sunday the 28h September (date for your diary). Well Done ladies I heard it was a great game!
This week we trained hard with a great turnout to both training sessions, wanting to improve and work hard to get into the team. Working on our technical ability and getting used Playing as a team again.
Today was the first time the ladies got to wear the new home kit, Brentford FC’s home kit from last season. The ladies look smart and fresh in their new kit.
Today’s game was against AFC Phoenix with whom we have history with. Beating them in the Cup final a couple of season ago and last season in the league, they have also been promoted with us this season.
With a strong team set out we were ready. The first half was even with the ladies playing well leaving it 0-0 at half time. Second half with all 3 subs on the ladies were passing the ball well just not getting the opportunity to take that shot in the final third of the pitch. The game finished 0-0 frustrating, some may say not to win but at least it wasn’t a loss!
Onwards and upwards for next week!
